Head coach Tony Gustavsson named Foord amongst the substitutes for The Commonwealth Bank Matildas, however, the player came off the bench to play the second half and in-turn, earn her milestone cap.
Despite bossing the possession and creating a flurry of chances, it was far from a stellar performance from Australia as they played at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium for the very first time. They fell behind thanks to an Anna Green goal for New Zealand just after the half-hour mark.
Gustavsson threw Arsenal forward Foord on for the second half as his side battled to get themselves back in the game. In the end, they had to wait until deep in second half stoppage time before they got their reward. First, Emily van Egmond found the back of the net as she pulled the scores level before Sam Kerr scored a second Australian goal a minute later to secure her side a 2-1 win.
Australia will face neighbours New Zealand again in another international friendly match on Tuesday. The two sides will travel to the GIO Stadium in Canberra for that fixture.
