Arsenal picked up yet another huge Premier League win on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners travelled to Chelsea knowing only a victory would send them back to the top of the table after Manchester City‘s stoppage-time winner against Fulham the previous day.
And Mikel Arteta’s side delivered just that.
Courtesy of an awesome team display from back to front, Arsenal secured a priceless 1-0 victory at the home of one of their fiercest rivals.
Gabriel Magalhaes scored the only goal of the game in the second half, the centre-back converting from close-range after some laughable Chelsea defending.
Unsurprisingly, the Arsenal players celebrated the eventual match-winning strike very passionately by the corner flag in front of their fans.
For a Gooner, it was glorious scenes – and one supporter who got to enjoy the celebrations first-hand spotted something rather funny about them as well.
As the Arsenal players ran over to enjoy the moment with Gabriel, Ben White – who was exceptional at right-back once again – took the opportunity to kick a ball at Martin Odegaard’s head.
We can’t be 100% certain that it was intentional from the Englishman, although after watching footage of the incident numerous times, it certainly looks as if it was…
A perfect dink from White onto his captain’s bonce! You have to admire that level of accuracy.
Here’s how some fans have reacted…
‘Benny Blanco’ is quickly becoming an Arsenal legend.
After the match at Stamford Bridge, Arteta told the BBC: “We’re playing a top top team, a top manager, top class players. The team showed maturity, composure and confidence and showed real character to impose ourselves on the pitch.
“It was really difficult to contend with the quality they have. But starting with the front three players, we put on a lot of pressure, it will give them more belief.
“It’s a really young team, but they played as a really mature team and it’s a big step against this opposition.
“What Manchester City are doing is what they’ve been doing for six years, they’re the best team in world, with the best coach in the world. We have taken another step against a really difficult opposition and to convince ourselves we can do it.”
