Amid speculation around his future with the Arsenal academy, Luis Brown effectively confirmed his exit by posting “thank you” on Instagram, along with a black-and-white photo of himself in an Arsenal shirt.

Brown had previously hinted at a permanent move to West Ham United on his Instagram story, posting a picture of himself in training with the club along with eye emojis.

The youngster went out on a trial with the Hammers in March, and two months later he’s still playing with the same team, suggesting a permanent move is likely.

Brown’s Arsenal contract is expiring this summer, and it seems there are no plans to offer him a professional deal. Instead, the 18-year-old looks to be making a move across London.

The defender made his first appearance for West Ham back in early March, starting for their u18s against Aston Villa.

He played the full 90 minutes as West Ham won 4-2, bouncing back from going 2-0 down in the first three minutes with the help of three goals between the 89th and 97th minutes of the match.

The Arsenal 18-year-old was playing in defence as usual, with West Ham using a three-at-the-back system with Brown as a centre-back.

Brown has gone on to make five appearances for the West Ham u18s, including four wins.

Their only defeat with the defender involved was an 8-1 thrashing by Arsenal, with Chido Martin Obi scoring five goals. But Martin Obi looks relatively unstoppable at the moment, regardless of the opponent.
