Standard Sport understands the RB Leipzig forward is of interest to the Gunners, with manager Mikel Arteta keen on bolstering his frontline this summer.

They have scouted the 20-year-old, who has scored 17 goals in 41 appearances for the German side since moving to the Bundesliga from sister club Red Bull Salzburg last summer for a reported £55m.

Chelsea and United are also believed to be keen on Sesko, while Newcastle have been linked in various media reports.

The striker has a €50million (£42.7m) release clause in his contract which is due to become active in the summer and it is thought Leipzig are already planning for life without him.

Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak are also understood to have been on Arsenal’s radar as they look to try and bring in more firepower.

While only Manchester City (91) have scored more than Arsenal’s 89 in the Premier League this season, current strikers Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have combined for just nine goals.

Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, was pictured at Old Trafford as the Gunners kept their Premier League title dream alive.

Leandro Trossard’s 20th-minute goal took the title race to the last day of the season as Arteta’s side moved back to the top of the table, albeit champions City still have a game in hand.

Arsenal host Everton on the final day, while City travel to Tottenham on Tuesday before hosting West Ham.
