Arsenal will be forced to wear their away kit in Sunday's north London derby with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners have not worn their changed strip away at Spurs in 38 years, but the Premier League and PGMOL have ruled that they will not be able to don their famous red home shirts as they clash too much with the hosts' white.

A statement from Arsenal read: "The PGMOL and Premier League ruled that our 2024-25 home kit features too much white, thus clashing with Tottenham's traditional colours, even with the option of red shorts and socks for us, which was also discussed.

"As a result, for the first time in recent 'NLD' history, we'll be wearing our change colours."

Arsenal's away kit is predominantly black and features green, red and grey trim. Tottenham will compete in their usual white shirts with navy accents, accompanied by navy shorts and white socks.

The Gunners make the journey across north London to kick off a run of tricky fixtures on the other side of the international break. After facing Spurs, they will then face Atalanta away in their UEFA Champions League opener on Thursday night.

Upon returning to England, Mikel Arteta's men make the journey to the Etihad Stadium to take on Premier League title rivals Manchester City.

Spurs, meanwhile, follow the derby with a visit to Coventry City in the third round of the Carabao Cup and then return home to take on Brentford back in league action.
