Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has spoken directly with Juventus director of football Cristiano Giuntoli about a summer move, according to Tuttosport.

The Italy international has been a key player for the Gunners this season, and he has formed a solid partnership with Declan Rice.

Despite this, there is uncertainty over his future as his contract expires at the end of June.

The Gunners have the option to extend his stay for another year, but the hierarchy has yet to trigger the clause.

Arsenal have reportedly opened talks over a new contract with his agent, but the midfielder would not mind a return to Italy this summer.

Tuttosport claim that Jorginho has spoken directly with Bianconeri chief Giuntoli to verify the feasibility of a transfer at the end of the campaign.

The Serie A outfit are currently making the appropriate assessments. Jorginho believes he would be a good alternative to Manuel Locatelli.

Arsenal could sanction Jorginho’s exit this summer

Jorginho started the campaign as a regular on the bench, with Rice and Kai Havertz preferred in midfield.

However, the Italian has become a mainstay in the number six role in recent months, with Havertz enjoying a good spell leading the line.

Despite this, Jorginho is no longer in the prime of his career. With Arsenal eyeing a marquee midfielder this summer, he could be offloaded before next season.

The Gunners spent £12 million to purchase him from Chelsea in January 2023, and they are more likely to trigger his extension clause in the near future.

They would not want to lose the £110,000-a-week star on a free transfer this summer.
