Arsenal set planned location for pre-season tour

Arsenal are set to do yet another pre-season tour of the USA later this year, according to a report.

Arseblog report that Arsenal are planning another tour of the USA in 2024, as part of their pre-season preparations for the 2024/25 campaign.

As it stands, there’s no certainty over the venue, timing, or opponents of the summer fixtures, but Arseblog add that it’s thought the club will at least play another match at the KSE-owned SoFI Stadium in Los Angeles.

The report adds that it’s likely the tour will be slightly later in the summer than last year, what with Euro 2024 taking place and a slightly later start date for the Premier League.

Arsenal played their opening Premier League fixture on Saturday, August 12th this season, but the new campaign is set to kick-off on Saturday, August 17th.

Euro 2024 kicks off on June 14th and concludes on July 14th. But any Arsenal players involved in the tournament could obviously return earlier, should their teams not perform well.

The group stage concludes on June 26th, so that will be the earliest possible date for Arsenal internationals to end their duties at the tournament.

It’s unlikely many Arsenal players will be back early, however. The group stage is very forgiving, with 16 of the 24 group-stage teams progressing to the knockout rounds.

Given Arsenal’s internationals generally belong to some of the tournament’s best teams, like Spain, France, England, Belgium, and Italy, they should be able to avoid being one of the eight teams knocked out at the first stage.

As a result, Arsenal will probably put off the bulk of their tour until as late as possible, likely late-July and early-August.
