Rodrygo Goes’ future at Real Madrid continues to be a topic of major speculation this summer, with the forward losing prominence in the team in recent months.

The 24-year-old attacker is going through his worst phase in front of goal at the Spanish capital club and finds himself battling for a starting spot with Arda Guler and once he arrives, Franco Mastantuono.

There has been plenty of interest in Rodrygo from the Premier League with Arsenal, in particular, emerging as his strongest suitor.

Rodrygo is Arsenal’s dream target

Indeed, according to journalist Ben Jacobs on GMS, Arsenal consider Rodrygo as their ‘dream’ target to reinforce their left flank.

Even though they are exploring other targets such as Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, the Real Madrid forward remains their preferred option.

As such, the Gunners are prepared to wait to see if the Brazilian international becomes available on the market, knowing that he will soon hold talks about his future with Xabi Alonso.

The report reiterates that Real Madrid would be open to selling Rodrygo for a fee of €90 million if the player himself asked to leave.

Rodrygo started Real Madrid’s first game at the FIFA Club World Cup against Al-Hilal but was left on the bench as an unused substitute against Pachuca, with players like Victor Munoz and Gonzalo Garcia getting minutes ahead of him.

It is unlikely that the Brazilian will start against RB Salzburg tonight even though he is not battling any physical issues.

As such, his future hangs in the balance with his talk with Alonso likely to hold the key. For now, Arsenal continue to wait while keeping an eye on other options.
