Arsenal release statement after message mocking Tottenham on official website

Arsenal have released a statement about a message found by a supporter on their official club shop.

When anyone would enter the online club shop and look at their cart or basket when it was empty, the website would show a message mocking Arsenal's bitter rivals Tottenham.

The message read: "Your Basket Is As Empty As Tottenham's Trophy Cabinet".

The picture was shared on social media, causing it to go viral, which prompted a response from Arsenal.

According to Goal's Charles Watts, the club stated: "This was posted to the site in error without appropriate checks and approvals and is being removed as quickly as possible."
