After undergoing an operation on Tuesday in London, the club have now confirmed that he has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

It is hoped that he will make his comeback for the Gunners during pre-season.

Although not assured of a regular starting berth, Tomiyasu has been a key and versatile figure for Mikel Arteta this season, making 31 appearances in all competitions – the majority coming from the bench.
