Liverpool host Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday as the division’s top two meet at Anfield.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal will give Liverpool the traditional guard of honour, with the Reds already confirmed as Premier League champions.
Liverpool suffered a hangover in their first fixture as champions last weekend, however, after losing 3-1 at Chelsea. It was only the third league defeat of the season for Arne Slot’s side.
Arsenal arrive at Anfield following their Champions League exit in midweek. The Gunners lost at Paris Saint-Germain to bow out of the competition in the semi-finals. Arsenal have now gone five straight seasons without silverware and are heading towards a third consecutive campaign as Premier League runners-up.
Arne Slot has confirmed that Conor Bradley will start this weekend. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s expected exit from Liverpool was confirmed this week with the right-back to depart when his contract expires. Amid Alexander-Arnold’s imminent move to Real Madrid, Slot will give Bradley minutes in preparation for next season.
Liverpool remain without Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton, though otherwise have a full-strength squad to choose from. Federico Chiesa made his fifth appearance of the season at Chelsea last weekend, ensuring he earns a Premier League winner’s medal.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz.
Liverpool host Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday May 11th 2025. Kick-off at Anfield is 16:30 BST.
