Arsenal remain interested in luring ‘big talent’ Mykhaylo Mudryk to the Emirates Stadium and there is a distinct possibility that the Shakhtar Donetsk star will secure a switch to the Premier League next year, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Having spent close to £120million during the summer, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be given the opportunity to secure even more reinforcements when the transfer window reopens in January.

What’s the latest news involving Mudryk?

According to i News, Newcastle United are considering testing Shakhtar’s resolve by lodging a £50million bid for Mudryk.

The report suggests the Magpies, who became the richest club in world football last year, are taking a serious interest in the winger.

Mudryk has revealed that he would like to secure a switch to the Premier League, but his recent comments seem to suggest he would prefer to join Arsenal than Newcastle.

The Ukrainian admitted, in a video interview released earlier this month, he ‘can’t say no’ to a winter switch to north London after the Gunners held discussions with his representatives during the summer window.

Arsenal could reportedly reignite their interest in Mudryk, having missed out on striking a deal before the deadline earlier this month, while Everton were unsuccessful with a verbal proposal worth £26.7million.

What has Dean Jones said about Mudryk?

Jones understands that nearly half of the clubs currently competing in the Premier League are keen to win the race for Mudryk’s services.

The transfer insider is aware that Arsenal are among the interested parties and is confident that the 21-year-old is destined for a move to the Premier League next year.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “They’re more than aware that there’s about seven or eight other teams in the Premier League keeping an eye on him.

“I know Arsenal still have an eye on him too and I think that this is a big talent that probably will land in the Premier League in 2023.”

Why is Mudryk of interest to Arsenal?

Mudryk has already showcased his talents during the early stages of the campaign, having chalked up two goals and a further three assists in five Shakhtar appearances.

Although Arsenal are currently the Premier League’s table-toppers, there is no doubt that he would be an asset in that kind of form.

Statistics show that Mudryk has been his current employers’ best performer since the season got underway, having registered an average match rating of 7.58 in the Champions League, which will be another attraction for Arteta.

The wide-man has also earned comparisons to Paris Saint-Germain attackers Neymar and Lionel Messi, which is no mean feat.
