Arsenal Women’s goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo is set to leave the club this summer upon the expiration of her contract.

Since joining the Gunners from Vittsjo GIK in January 2023, D’Angelo made 14 appearances over 18 months, debuting on 26 January in the quarterfinal game against Aston Villa in the FA Women’s League Cup, but was unable to secure the number one shirt due to the performances of Manuela Zinsberger.

During her time at Arsenal, D’Angelo secured two Conti Cup titles. However, with limited playing time, she has decided to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

Arsenal is reportedly interested in acquiring Aston Villa and Netherlands goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar as a potential replacement, according to Tim Stillman. Van Domselaar, a promising 24-year-old keeper, has already accumulated significant experience at both the club and international levels.

Van Domselaar began her professional career with FC Twente in the 2017–18 season, initially serving as a reserve goalkeeper. She made her Eredivisie debut in December 2017, stepping in after Nicky Evrard received a red card. By the 2019–20 season, she became Twente’s first-choice goalkeeper.

After the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, she attracted interest from foreign clubs but stayed with Twente for the 2022–23 season. She was the only Eredivisie player in The Guardian’s top 100 list of female footballers in 2022.

In June 2023, she signed a three-year deal with Aston Villa.
