Arsenal have reportedly been given the green light to begin personal talks with Éver Banega over a potential move.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their midfielder following the departures of Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere – with Banega seen as the perfect fit.
Unai Emery had previously worked with Banega at Valencia before signing him for Sevilla and would only cost around £18m.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Banega’s agent Marcelo Simonian has travelled to London and will hold talks with Arsenal’s hierarchy on Thursday evening.
However, the report also claims that any deal is unlikely, with Sevilla reluctant to sell and the player himself settled with his family in the region.
Banega is currently with Argentina’s national team for their World Cup campaign and came on as a substitute in their 1-1 draw with Iceland last week.
