The 27-year-old has been involved in a hectic run of action for club and country with Parris having been a member of an Arsenal squad which have been involved in UEFA Women’s Champions League action since the very first round in August. She has also been playing in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and Vitality Women’s FA Cup for her club, in addition to her international involvement with the Lionesses.
The Football Association released a short squad update this morning confirming Parris’ early release from international duty.
Parris was a second half substitute for the Lionesses on Saturday as they defeated Austria 1-0 in blustery conditions at The Stadium of Light in Sunderland. England play another FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 qualifier against Latvia at The Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster on Tuesday evening but Parris will now not be a member of the squad for that match.
England currently top their qualification group with five wins out of five. Tuesday’s opponents Latvia arrive in South Yorkshire having lost all of their qualifying matches so far. They are also on a run of 15 consecutive defeats.
