Arsenal have been tracking Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino for a “long time”, according to Fabrizio Romano.

However, the transfer expert says there has been no bid for the 19-year-old yet.

What is the latest news involving Pino?

GOAL recently reported that Arsenal are interested in Pino as Mikel Arteta looks to bring a new wide man to the Emirates.

The Spaniard has a £67m release clause, but the same outlet claims that Villarreal are open to selling him for around £38m.

Pino was a bright spark for the Yellow Submarine last season, coming up with 10 goal contributions in 31 league appearances, which is a good return for a teenager.

As well as Arsenal, other reports have suggested that Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are also all interested in the Spain international.

What has Romano said about Pino and Arsenal?

Romano has told GIVEMESPORT that Pino has been on Arsenal and Edu’s radar for a while but nothing is advanced at this moment in time.

Speaking to GMS, the Italian journalist said: “They are one of many clubs that have been following him for a long time. He’s doing great with Villarreal. At the moment, there is still no bid or nothing advanced for Pino.”

Who could Pino replace at Arsenal?

If Arsenal were to sign Pino, who “lives for football” in the words of Villarreal’s Under-23s assistant coach Nando Martinez, one player who could end up being forced out is Nicolas Pepe.

The Ivorian already finds himself far away from Arteta’s thinking, failing to pick up a single minute of football in either of Arsenal’s first two Premier League fixtures of the new season.

It comes after a campaign where Pepe was able to make just five starts in English football’s top flight. Sign Pino, and you would expect things to get possibly even worse for the 27-year-old.

Do you know this obscure player Arsenal signed in the January transfer window?

Joel Campbell Carlos Vela Chuba Akpom Cohen Bramall

Therefore, it would not be a surprise if the Villarreal youngster ended up taking Pepe’s spot in the squad as the Ivory Coast international moves on to pastures new.

Whatever happens with Pino and Pepe, this has been a good transfer window for Arsenal, who have managed to bring in the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

And it has not taken the former long to settle, with the Brazilian scoring twice in the Gunners’ recent 4-2 win over Leicester City.

after missing out on Raphinha. But even without his compatriot, it has still been a positive summer.
