Arsenal defender Teyah Goldie has joined London City Lionesses on a season-long loan deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this morning.

Goldie is a product of the Arsenal academy system and she went on to make her debut for the club in an Adobe Women’s FA Cup tie against Gillingham back in April 2021. The 20-year-old has since gone on to appear for The Gunners on five further occasions at first team level.

The player’s development has been far from straight-forward. Goldie sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury during a loan spell with Watford in 2022 which sidelined her for a year.

The England youth international is now back to full fitness and she is ready for regular first team football with London City Lionesses this season.

After securing her loan move to Hayes Lane, Goldie said “I’m very excited to be here. I feel like it’s been a long time coming for me to come to a good place, with good people, and to be playing football again.

“I’m lucky enough to be familiar with a lot of the girls, which is lovely, and it feels like I’ve been here a lot longer than I have. Everyone has been really welcoming and has helped me settle in well.

“My number one aim for this season is to play regular minutes at a high level. I always want to play possession-based football and I feel that playing on this team will help me achieve that. I absolutely love defending and driving forward with the ball. I’m really excited to be here.”

Goldie is London City Lionesses’ ninth signing of the summer transfer window.
