According to reports, Arsenal are among the clubs considering moves for Valencia’s Yunus Musah and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi ahead of this summer.

The Gunners have performed superbly this season as they have challenged Manchester City for the Premier League title.

But Arsenal now look set to finish second following their four-game winless run in the league. As things stand, City will move four points clear at the top if they win their remaining game in hand.

Some Arsenal supporters will be disappointed if they do not win the title, but this season should still be looked back on fondly even if they have to settle for second place.

Their performances in recent games make it clear that Arsenal need to strengthen this summer. There is currently too much of a drop-off in quality between the club’s first-team stars and squad players.

Arsenal are being heavily linked with West Ham’s Declan Rice, who could cost as much as £100m this summer. But Fabrizio Romano has revealed that they have been “following Musah since January”.

“I’ve mentioned Arsenal and Chelsea’s interest in Yunus Musah and it is the case that they are following Musah since January; Inter as well,” Romano told Caught Offside.

“At the moment it’s just scouting and not advanced yet, but Musah has good chances to move this summer.”

The 20-year-old previously played for Arsenal between 2012 and 2019. He left the Premier League club before he could make his senior debut but he has shone for Valencia in recent years.

Speaking last November,

“There is young Yunus Musah in midfield, who really looks the part even though he does not turn 20 until next week,” Wilshere told The Sun.

“We had him at Arsenal from the age of nine until he was 16, when he moved to Spain for family reasons and joined Valencia.

“He is a well-travelled lad, having lived in the USA and Italy too — that helped his football education.

“My assistant coach with the Arsenal Under-18s, Adam Birchall, always tells me what a good player he was in our academy — and how they were disappointed to lose him. But that’s life.”

Romano has also revealed that Arsenal have been “monitoring” Guehi.

“There’s nothing advanced with Arsenal and Marc Guehi, but they are monitoring him, it’s just normal scouting. No decision has been made and there’s nothing concrete at this stage on Guehi but many top clubs are following him.”

This comes amid Rob Holding’s worrying performances alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in recent weeks.
