Arsenal have confirmed plans to expand the capacity of the Emirates Stadium 60,600.
Since the stadium was opened in 2006, various adjustments have been made, seeing the overall capacity fall from 60,432 to below 60,000.
However, the new plans will see the installation of around 700 extra seats.
The changes to the stadium should be in place by the start of the 2019/20 season.
Extra seats will be added to the middle ‘Club Level’ band of the stadium, with the hope that a waiting list will be shortened and seats in the upper and lower tiers will be more available.
“The development of Club Level is crucial to ensuring fan experience at games is at its best whilst also enabling us to stay at the forefront of stadium hospitality,” said Chief Commercial Officer Vinai Venkateshem.
“As we continue to face high demand for tickets in all areas of Emirates Stadium, this is a significant investment to ensure that as many supporters as possible are able to watch the team play at Emirates Stadium.”
