Muric has only ever featured five times for City since joining the club in 2015, with all of those outings coming in the League Cup.

The Kosovo international has instead spent much of his time out on loan elsewhere, and it seems he could be on the move again this summer.

According to this latest update, Burnley are working on a deal to sign the 23-year-old, although Turkish side Adana Demirspor, where Muric spent last season on loan, are apparently also keen.

A move to Burnley for Muric could create plenty of intrigue, so with that in mind, we’ve taken a look at some of the big questions that could be asked about this transfer, right here.

Is it a good potential move?

This could be a useful move for Burnley to get done.

The Lancashire club certainly need a goalkeeper, following the departure of Nick Pope to Newcastle United earlier in the summer.

New Clarets boss Vincent Kompany has already raided his old club for two centre backs during the current window in CJ Egan-Riley and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, so there is a precedent for this deal to be done as well.

However, given Muric made a number of costly errors during his last temporary spell in the Championship with Nottingham Forest during the 2019/20 season, this move would not be without some risk.

Would he start?

You do get the feeling that Muric would get plenty of opportunities if he moved to Turf Moor.

Given Pope’s aforementioned departure, the number one spot between the posts is certainly up for grabs at Burnley this season, especially with Wayne Hennessey linked with a move away as well.

There is of course other options for the Clarets in that position such as Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Will Norris who could also step into the role.

But considering Kompany’s City connections, and the expectations there will be for Muric to get game time, you do get the feeling the 23-year-old would be in a strong position to claim that first choice role for the coming campaign with the Clarets.

What does he offer?

Despite the fact he has never established himself as a regular feature for City, Muric does still have some useful experience under his belt.

The goalkeeper was first choice for Demirspor for much of last season, as they finished ninth in the Turkish top-flight.

Furthermore, given the 23-year-old has also won 27 senior international caps for Kosovo already, he should be well used to be playing under pressure in high stakes games.

It could also be argued that after the way his last spell in the Championship with Forest played out, Muric would also arrive at Burnley, feeling as though he has something of a point to prove.
