Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are of course currently locked in action, playing out the club’s game in hand over their La Liga title rivals, at Getafe.

And, as things stand, Los Blancos are headed for the top of the table, owing to a brace by way of frontman Joselu.

Whilst things are certainly going to plan for the visitors when it comes to the scoreline at the Estadio Coliseum, they have, though, as alluded to above, also been dealt a concerning blow on the personnel front.

This comes with the aforementioned Antonio Rüdiger having failed to emerge from the dressing room for the 2nd half.

With fellow central defenders David Alaba and Éder Militão already unavailable to Carlo Ancelotti owing to respective long-term knee injuries, news of the former Chelsea man’s problem sparked inevitable panic in the Spanish capital.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a major source of relief to hear that early indications pointing towards Rüdiger’s issue being a minor one.

As per Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, Real have confirmed that their defensive stalwart has suffered a ‘left thigh blow’.

It is added that Rüdiger is dealing with considerable pain, but, thankfully, his injury ‘doesn’t look serious’.
