On Thursday night, Real Madrid reportedly made contact with Antonio Conte as they see the Chelsea manager as the best fit to take over in the short-term.
However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Antonio Conte rejected Los Blancos, reiterating that he is still in charge of the Blues and has no intention of stepping down.
Real Madrid are coming off their third consecutive Champions League title and are unlikely to welcome new training methods that Conte or any other manager would demand.
It has long been expected that Conte would be replaced by Maurizio Sarri although reports state he would be leaving guaranteed money on the table if he were to resign himself.
Chelsea do not look like they want to pay the Italian, although if they want the Partenopei manager, they will have to go through Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and pay a reported €8m for Sarri’s services if they want to bring him in before 1 July.
Carlo Ancelotti was announced as the new Napoli manager on 23 May but De Laurentiis is insistent on holding Sarri to his contract and will not allow him to move unless a club pays his fee.
