Another tough test at Linz's new pad

Roses, records and LASK gunning for revenge

This Sunday we visit LASK's new Raiffeisen Arena for a second time. The fixture in the 29th game week of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga kicks off at 14:30 CET under referee Julian Weinberger with big points at stake in the title race - and also the chance to set up a potential title win in next week's table-topping clash against Sturm Graz.

We will need to be at our very best for that, however. Sunday's meeting sees the two teams still unbeaten in the championship group face one another. Didi Kühbauer's side have suffered just one league defeat of 2023 so far - in addition to their UNIQA ÖFB Cup semi-final exit against Sturm Graz. In the middle of March our boys beat them 2-0 - the only game they have lost at their new ground to date.

Nakamura & Co are aiming to secure third place and a certain Europa League group stage spot, which looks highly likely given the 10-point cushion they enjoy over Rapid Vienna. Matthias Jaissle's boys will seek to continue their impressive away run. They have not lost any of their past 13 away trips - winning 12 and drawing one. Our boys have not enjoyed a sequence like that for close to ten years.

Can we take points in our 12th consecutive meeting with LASK? We will see soon enough. If you aren't able to watch the match you are most welcome to follow the usual live updates on our website.

Our injury situation hasn't got any easier, unfortunately. Quite the opposite, as both Nicolas Capaldo and Strahinja Pavlovic are suspended. It's presenting quite a challenge. We will find a way to solve it though and select a good team, as we trust every player in our squad.   The championship group is really incredibly strong this year, and you have to put in a top performance every week. LASK are playing extremely well. They have only lost one game so far this year. That says it all.

Matthias Jaissle

We have the first of four finals ahead on Sunday. LASK have been really strong this spring and are battling for a really strong finish in the league. We have an extremely difficult challenge ahead, which our injury situation is making even more complicated. It's a reason to move even closer together as a team and fight for one another though to get the three points.
