Ángel Di María has told Juventus he will only sign for them on a short-term deal because he wants to finish his career in his native Argentina.
That’s according to Goal, who report on Monday that Di María is currently in “crunch transfer talks” about joining the Bianconeri on a free transfer when his Paris Saint-Germain contract officially expires at the end of June.
The Serie A giants are reportedly hoping Di María will sign a two-year contract in Turin, but the 34-year-old is currently only willing to sign for one season before heading back to his homeland next summer.
Juve are preparing to lose Paulo Dybala on a free transfer this summer and have identified his compatriot Di María as the ideal replacement, with an €8m-a-year contract said to be on the table.
But it seems the 122-cap Argentine international is only keen on sticking around in Europe for 12 more months before he goes home.
Di Maria began his career at Rosario Central before moving to Benfica in 2007. He has since also played for Real Madrid, Manchester United and PSG.
