Argentina international Ángel Di María addressed the media for the first time as a Juventus player.

On why he opted for Juventus

“I chose Juventus because they’re the top club in Italy.

“My head is now solely and exclusively at Juve. I came here to win and work with this great club, we will think about the national team when the time comes to think about it. I want to win with Juventus.”

On what fans can expect from him

“The same Di María as always has arrived, the one who wants to win at all costs, the one who hates to lose and the one who wants to be a champion.

“I think Juve chose me because of this.

“The most important thing will be to work hard and I will try to do my best.

“I’m an assist man, so I’m hoping to provide to my teammates, I’m looking to do what I did at other clubs in the past.”

On why he insisted on a one-year contract

“I’m focused on this year, I’ll do my best to win the Scudetto and win everything we can. I’ll then think about my future.

“Two years at Juve? Why not, you never know. Anything can happen in football. Juventus welcomed me very well.

On why it took so long to finalise the deal

Juventus were persistent with me for 40 days, so it’s impossible to say no. I really wanted to come.

“I was late in answering the call from Juve due to a family matter.

“Juventus in fact was the only club I spoke to. I accepted because it’s a great club.”
