Andy Carroll has never really been considered a style icon, but this just takes the biscuit.

A photo has emerged online of the striker pictured at his sister-in-law’s wedding on Thursday in a West Ham tracksuit.

But to be fair to Carroll, the wedding clashed with the Hammers’ Premier League trip to Southampton and after coming off the bench in his side’s 2-1 win at St Mary’s, he took a two hour taxi to the reception and arrived just 30 minutes before it finished.

The 29-year-old target man is engaged to Billi Mucklow – former star of reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex – and it was her sister, Giorgie, who tied the knot this week.

Writing via her official Instagram account, Billi wrote: “So Happy AC Made The Last Half Hour Of The Wedding All The Way In A Taxi From Southampton.”

Carroll has so far played just 191 minutes of football this season and will be hoping to get another appearance under his belt when Manuel Pellegrini’s side travel to face Burnley on Sunday.
