New boy Andreas Pereira has been named in Flamengo’s squad for their Copa do Brasil quarter-final clash with Grêmio on Wednesday.
The loan signing from Manchester United arrived last week but was not deemed ready for Sunday’s disappointing 1-1 league draw at Ceará.
Pereira is included in a strong selection that welcomes back Willian Arão and Bruno Henrique from suspension.
Manager Renato Gaúcho has a decision to make in central defence.
Rodrigo Caio remains sidelined with a knee injury, while Bruno Viana produced a nightmare performance at the weekend.
These circumstances may prompt Gaúcho to risk Léo Pereira, despite the defender suffering a “bone trauma” to his left foot at the Castelão.
The Rubro-Negro will be hoping to reach the last four of a competition they haven’t won since 2013.
