HLN are reporting that Anderlecht are in negotiations with Theo Leoni about a new contract. The 23-year-old central midfielder has been a breakout star for the side this season, leading them with seven assists in 28 games this season. The youngster has also grabbed three goals. Last year the midfielder only made seven appearances for the side, but under Brian Riemer he has been a key player in their title challenge.
Despite the signings of Mats Rits and Thomas Delaney in the summer, it is Leoni who has been the star central midfielder for Anderlecht this season. The side want to reward him with a new five-year contract. Lenoi came through the sides academy and is just the latest from a system that has produced some of the best players to have played in the Belgian Pro League. Leoni’s current contract runs until 2026, with his previous extension having been signed at the end of the 2022/2023 campaign.
