Chivas Femenil definitely didn't play their best game against the Diablas, despite generating some very dangerous chances, they failed to do any damage to the scarlet goal and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

While it is true that El Rebaño remains unbeaten against Toluca in the history of the rivalry, with a record of 8 wins and 2 draws, the match against the Scarlets left a lot of material for analysis.

The following statistics summarize the match- Ball possession: Chivas 66% vs. 34% Toluca- Shots on goal: Chivas 12 vs 9 Toluca

These numbers translate into what was a large part of the match, as Chivas Femenil was on top but did not make good decisions in the final third. They generated clear chances of danger, although we must consider that Toluca's goalkeeper was an important factor with several of her saves.

What stood out in Guadalajara? As usual, Las Rojiblanca's fixed tactics were the best. Gabriela Valenzuela came close to scoring on a couple of occasions through this method; in addition, both from free kicks and corner kicks, Chivas finished several actions with shots on goal.

Another aspect to highlight is the attitude of the defensive line, which, in addition to keeping a clean sheet and providing security in the defense of the area, had another good display when it came to coming out with the ball. Kinberly Guzman is getting better and better at passing between the lines and Jaqueline Rodriguez gave advantages with her long runs.

This match was also the first start for Karla Martínez, who joined the attack several times and helped give continuity to the passing circuits that the Rebaño tried to set up, while Araceli Torres was very convincing in one-on-one defense and showed good judgment with her deliveries.

What does the Rebaño need to improve?Carolina Jaramillo did not have many advantages when receiving, so she could not weigh much with the ball. Therefore, Chivas could not show that touch of inventiveness that the 8 brings. That is a pending task for the next game.

Another thing that cost our red and white players was the decision making in the last meters of the field, since we are not only referring to definition issues, but some plays that could have transcended came to nothing because of a poor pass or a wrong reading of the situation.

Despite this, Chivas Femenil slept as leader of the general table with 13 points out of a possible 15, which indicates that despite having a performance that showed some areas of opportunity, it has been a good start to the Clausura 2023 for the team coached by Juan Pablo Alfaro.
