American businessman Todd Boehly is reportedly interesting in buying Chelsea or Tottenham.

The 46-year-old – who currently has a 20 per cent stake in the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team – has been eyeing up a bid for a top Premier League side for a few years, and believes that now is the right time to move into football.

The London Evening Standard has claimed Boehly is adamant on investing in the Premier League, and has his eye on a ‘top London club’.

That is thought to be Chelsea or Tottenham, with current Blues owner Roman Abramovich ready to sell after over a decade at the helm.

It’s thought that Abramovich values Chelsea at €2.5bn and is keen on offloading the Stamford Bridge outfit following his recent visa issues.

Spurs meanwhile are not thought to be on the market, but the Standard says that owner Joe Lewis could be tempted to sell if he receives somewhere in the region of €3bn.

Boehly is the current chairman of Eldridge Industries which controls shares in a wide range of business, including those in real estate and insurance.

Financial magazine Barron’s recently put his private wealth at €5bn.
