Just six months after first arriving from Heerenveen, Swedish striker Amin Sarr now looks set to leave Lyon for Germany, with Fabrizio Romano indicating this afternoon that an agreement has been reached over a loan deal with a mandatory permanent clause.
He arrived from the Dutch club for €11m last winter, but has only found the net once in 18 appearances, and has largely been barred from further opportunities given Alexandre Lacazette’s excellent form in front of goal this calendar year. He started against Nice this past weekend in the former Arsenal man’s absence due to suspension, but was unable to make an impact on the game before being substituted for Tino Kadewere with 20 minutes to go.
There has also been reported interest from other Ligue 1 clubs in Metz and Lorient over a potential loan deal. Instead, the Swedish international will move to the Bundesliga. The German club will pay Lyon €15m overall, which will be finalised once Sarr travels out tonight to undergo his medical.
