Miguel Herrera has opened the door to working in Chile, either as national boss or in club football, in the future.
Speaking to Chilean website Encancha (via Goal), the América manager expressed his particular fondness for Primera División side Colo Colo.
“The doors are always open to direct abroad,” Herrera said.
“Although I feel comfortable in América, the club I currently work for, I do not rule out anything in the future.
“There are very good teams in Chile. Obviously, if you give me a choice, I would think of the most emblematic, which is Colo Colo.
“We know that there are special clubs in the world of soccer and in the Chilean league Colo Colo in an important team.”
The Santiago outfit are in the market for a new manager after the dismissal of Mario Salas in February.
However, Herrera is not likely to be the replacement, insisting that “for now, I am fine in Mexico”.
‘El Piojo’ also revealed that he has been approached in the past about taking charge of the Chile national side.
“Yes, I had contacts. At that time, my termination clause was high in the team I was in and they couldn’t take care of it, so I couldn’t leave.”
Reinaldo Rueda has been in charge of La Roja since 2018.
