Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana is set to join Everton after the Premier League had a bid amounting to €40 million accepted by Lille.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League all summer, with West Ham initially trying to sign him before Everton also became interested.
It now seems that the Merseyside club have won the battle for his signature after matching West Ham’s offer of an initial €36 million with €4 million in bonuses.
The player himself is said to prefer a move to Goodison Park, and according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, all of the terms have now been finalised on such a move.
He will reportedly arrive in Manchester this evening, sign a five-year contract, undergo a medical examination in the morning, and if all goes well, then attend his new club’s first match of the season against Chelsea.
