FC Bayern are currently being linked with the signing of Chris Führich. It has now been revealed that the DFB shooting star could replace Leroy Sané at the German record champions.

The pay-TV channel Sky reported on Monday that the name Führich is being discussed within FCB. According to transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, however, there is „no hot lead“ so far.

As BILD now reports, the mind games surrounding Führich are much more concrete. According to the report, sporting director Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund are keeping a very close eye on the 26-year-old. Führich is therefore a transfer candidate for the summer.

Everything depends on Leroy Sané

According to BILD head of football Christian Falk, Führich is being considered as a possible replacement for Leroy Sané at the Isar. Should the 28-year-old not extend his contract (which runs until 2025) in the coming months, Führich would be a serious alternative to his DFB team-mate.

Although Führich only signed a new four-year contract with VfB Stuttgart until 2028 a few weeks ago, it includes an exit clause of between €20 million and €23 million. A sum that Bayern could easily afford, especially if they were to sell Sané.

However, Bayern are not the only interested party from the Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are also said to have the high-flyer on their radar. The Werkself, in particular, have been rumoured to have been looking for Führich for some time, according to Sky.

It is also unclear whether Führich will even want to leave the Swabians in the summer. At VfB, the attacking all-rounder is an undisputed regular and an absolute fixture. The German international could also play in the Champions League with Stuttgart next season. VfB are currently in third place.
