Manchester United are expected to revamp their goalkeeping options before the summer window draws to a close.

Andre Onana was expected to survive the cull, but recent reports have suggested otherwise. As relayed by The Peoples Person, intermediaries have been in touch with West Ham United over a potential loan exit.

Ruben Amorim’s decision to start Altay Bayindir in both Premier League games this season has not impressed the Cameroonian, and Senne Lammens’ impending arrival has further cast doubt on his future.

The Turkiye international did not cover himself in glory in the two league games. Despite the Red Devils dominating, it was ultimately his mistake that led to Arsenal claiming all three points.

Bayindir has struggled

Against Fulham, he struggled from every set-piece, and a more commanding presence in the box is required. There have been rumours that his position was safe until January, but that might not be the case.

Dominik Livakovic of Fenerbahce has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and now, as per Turkish Football, Galatasaray are interested in landing the 27-year-old.

However, he seems to have turned them down, in favour of staying in Manchester and fighting for his spot.

Turns down move to Galatasaray

“Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has reportedly turned down a transfer offer from Turkish Süper Lig champions Galatasaray, reaffirming his commitment to fight for his place at Old Trafford, sources have told Turkish-Football.

“The 27-year-old was the subject of interest from the Turkish giants, who were looking to bolster their squad before the close of the transfer window.

“However, sources close to the player indicate that Bayindir’s priority is to remain in Manchester and compete for the number one spot with Andre Onana.”

Such a stance is admirable, but should Lammens arrive, United will have four goalies, which is more than necessary. Tom Heaton signed a one-year deal and has been named as part of the new-look leadership group.

That means he is unlikely to leave. It will be interesting to see which shot-stoppers remain and which ones are let go once all the dust settles.
