Het Nieuwsblad have revealed that Club Brugge are considering making moves for Algerian international Abdelkahar Kadri and Japan defender Tsuyoshi Watanabe. Both players were crucial in helping Kortrijk avoid relegation from the Belgian Pro League. Kadri, who missed the beginning of the season through injury, played 16 games and scored four goals, including one assist. One of these was a crucial winner against Club Brugge near the end of March. The former Paradou AC man has played 42 games for Kortrijk, scoring six goals. He has also been capped by the Algerian national team.

Watanabe was ever present for Kortrijk this season, playing 34 games. The once capped Japan international joined the club in January of 2022 from FC Tokyo, where he made 101 appearances. He has certainly been the sides best defender this year.

Should Kortrijk lose both of these players, fans will certainly begin to worry about the direction the club is going in. Bernd Storck, despite keeping the side up, has gone, and it appears that owner Vincent Tan will not be investing in the club. Furthermore, top scorer Faiz Selamani is also set to depart in the summer.

Club Brugge have already announced one signing for next season, with Lech Poznan winger Michal Skoras set to leave Poland for Belgium.
