According to Florian Plettenberg, former OGC Nice midfielder Alexis Claude-Maurice is on the verge of joining FC Augsburg.
It is understood that the Bundesliga outfit are looking to add midfield reinforcement before the end of the transfer window, with Arne Engels set to sign for Celtic in the next few hours.
As previously reported, the Fuggerstädter are already exploring a deal to sign Brentford’s Frank Onyeka, but their business is not expected to stop there.
As stated in the report, the club have reached a total verbal agreement with the 26-year-old regarding a move to Bavaria this summer.
It is expected that the attacking midfielder will travel to Augsburg later today in order to complete a medical before making his move official.
Last season, Claude-Maurice featured 18 times for Nice in the Ligue 1; however, despite this, the Frenchman was only able to record 495 minutes of game time for the French outfit.
