Could this be a quick and clever resolution to the Isak pantomime that Eddie Howe and everybody else at St James’ Park is having to deal with?

Newcastle United could offer the Sweden international out on loan for the next 12 months, with a £20m or so loan fee to be banked.

You would have a dozen or more English clubs very interested, plus (preferably) those from the continent seeking his services.

The one stipulation would be for Newcastle United to agree to loan Alexander Isak out to any club but Liverpool.

In exchange, as well as the hefty loan fee, Newcastle take one or two players on loan from that club, in a reciprocal arrangement.

It should sort of suit Newcastle United and Alexander Isak.

He needs to play football in a World Cup season, whilst Newcastle United wouldn’t then have to pay him (for doing nowt).

Then come summer 2026 there is a queue of suitable suitors seeking his signature.
