Newcastle forward Alexander Isak insists he is not paying much attention to reports linking him with a move to Arsenal.

The Sweden international has established himself as a leading Premier League striker following a £63m move to St James’ Park from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022.

Isak has scored 22 goals in 42 League appearances for the club and is under contract until 2028, though FFP restraints have limited what Newcastle can do in the transfer market.

They have tipped to sell a key player in order to raise the funds required for further investment after a difficult season under Eddie Howe, with star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes also linked away.

Arsenal have been mooted as a potential landing spot for Isak, having previously considered a move for him during his time at Sociedad.

The Gunners have been free-scoring of late but are still expected to look for a new forward this summer and have been scouting both central strikers and wingers.

They are long-term admirers of Wolves star Pedro Neto and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams is also on their radar.

Ivan Toney has also been linked ahead of his likely exit from Brentford, while RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres have been scouted over the past six months.

Isak, however, insists he is paying little attention to the links.

“It doesn’t affect me that much,” he told Swedish outlet Expressen.

“I see it as just such a thing. Everyone knows that summer is coming and if things show up, things can happen, but I actually haven’t even thought about it.”
