Throughout Manchester United’s disappointing 2021/22 season, reports of player unrest have been widespread and as Ralf Rangnick’s stint as interim manager came to an end, one heated incident from the training ground has made the rounds on social media.

Now, further light has been shed on the situation with left-back Alex Telles and midfielder Hannibal Mejbri claimed to be the two players in question. That’s according to the Daily Mail, who say that the pair were involved in a ‘heated altercation’ earlier this month.

Mejbri has only recently become a member of the club’s senior playing staff and his fiery cameo at Liverpool last month raised eyebrows, with the Tunisian midfielder owning a reputation of having a short fuse.

Telles, on the other hand, has stayed out of trouble since making his move to United in 2020. The Brazil international has, however, maintained his place in the team following the incident and Mejbri was handed a start in Rangnick’s final game in charge last weekend.

SN’s verdict… Suggestions that some of the players at United don’t get along will not be surprising to many supporters, with the majority of them acting like strangers on the pitch for the last six months.

Mejbri is infamously known for causing trouble and there have been similar incidents in the past where youngsters have blown their chance of staking a real claim in the first-team due to disciplinary issues.

Clearly, the 19-year-old is extremely talented and he needs to channel that instead of causing unrest within the squad.
