Alex Scott and Taylor Swift both appeared on the latest episode of the Graham Norton Show and fans have gone wild for their discussion on women’s football.

Scott is a former professional footballer, who was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame back in 2019.

Since retiring, she has gone on to enjoy a successful broadcasting career and frequently appears as a presenter and pundit on various sports programmes.

Meanwhile, Swift is one of the most successful musicians of this generation and her new album Midnights has already become the biggest of 2022, having sold 204,000 copies in its first week.

Swift is also known to enjoy women’s football and has frequently shown support for the US Women’s National Team in the past.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, Swift revealed she was a huge fan of Scott and thanked her for being a trailblazer for aspiring female sports presenters.

While chatting with actor Eddie Redmayne, singer Bono, as well as Norton, Swift turned to Scott and said: “My friends are so jealous that I’m getting to meet you, because we just look at you as such an inspiration for breaking through in such a male-dominated industry.

She added: “You should be so proud of yourself.”

In response, Scott was quick to return the compliments and brought up Swift’s support for the USWNT back in 2015.

“You know what I love as well. You did so much for the US [Women’s] National Team when they won and you brought them out on stage and we see that over here and we’re like ‘that is it. How incredible is that.’

“So, we know you’ve always been there supporting other women and leading the way, so thank you.”

Back in 2015, Swift also invited members of the World Cup-winning US team onto the stage at one of her concerts and paid tribute to their remarkable achievement.
