But Greenwood was sent off late in the first half of Sunday’s encounter at the Joie Stadium after picking up two bookings inside 20 minutes.

The defender received a second caution for timewasting after urging her teammates to push up the pitch for a free kick.

Chloe Kelly and Laia Aleixandri were also booked for dissent after arguing against Greenwood’s red card in the immediate aftermath.

City were hit with another dismissal as Lauren Hemp was also sent off during the second half before the visitors snatched a late equaliser.
