According to Relevo, Alejandro Balde has began his recovery as he aims to be fit for Euro 2024. The full-back is not expected to play for Barcelona again this season after rupturing his hamstring in the Copa quarter-final tie against Athletic at San Mamés.

Just days after picking up this injury, Balde went into surgery and was operated on by the same doctor, who treated Ousmane Dembélé, Ronald Araujo and Sergi Roberto. Although, there is a long way to go until he has made a full recovery, the Spaniard has made very good progress and has responded very well to the treatment so far.

A month after undergoing surgery, the Barca left-back begun his recovery process with the aim of being able to play in Germany. Until just a few days ago, the player was still on crutches as he doesn’t want to take any risks even though he would like to participate in the European Championship.

It is estimated that Balde will make a full recovery in four months time, but this is only the case if he doesn’t suffer any setbacks along the way. Therefore, the defender could be fit by the end of May, which coincides with the end of the La Liga season.

It is unlikely that the 20-year-old would risk competing in Barca’s final few games, as his main aim is to be available for the national team. Although, the Spain international could be fit for the beginning of the Euros, it is unlikely that he will be up to speed in terms of match rhythm and this could mean that he misses the chance to represent his national team at the upcoming tournament.
