Real Sociedad missed the chance to retake top spot in LaLiga Santander as they drew 0-0 at Alaves at Mendizorroza.
Imanol Alguacil was forced into a last-minute change to his line-up after David Silva was deemed unfit to play, despite initially being named in the starting XI.
Roberto Lopez replaced the veteran in the team, with La Real later revealing that Silva had been suffering from thigh discomfort.
Alaves played the last half an hour of the match with 10 men after Rodrigo Battaglia was given a straight red card for dissent to the referee.
La Real put significant pressure on Fernando Pacheco as they pursued a winner in the closing stages, with Willian Jose forcing an excellent, low save from the Alaves goalkeeper.
Pablo Machin's hosts, though, held on to claim a valuable point following their surprise win over Real Madrid on Matchday 12.
La Real surrender first place in LaLiga Santander to Atletico Madrid, who were 2-0 winners over Real Valladolid on Saturday.
