Al-Ahli attempting late hijack for Strasbourg-bound Reims midfielder Valentin Atangana

Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli has lodged a late attempt to hijack Strasbourg’s move for Reims midfielder Valentin Atangana (20), according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. The 20-year-old France U21 international was expected to join Liam Rosenior’s Alsatians as the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side reportedly reached a €15m agreement to sign the Reims Academy product.

But Strasbourg’s deal to sign Atangana is now in serious jeopardy as Al-Ahli are “pushing” to get a deal done for the 20-year-old midfielder, who was also a target for Galatasaray. The report adds that the Saudi side has already reached an agreement with Reims and that Atangana is yet to sign his contract with RC Strasbourg, who are currently losing to AS Monaco for Ligue 1’s third matchday.
