Ajax have tied down one of their most promising young players for another year after a spectacular showing on loan at Heerenveen.
On Friday, Ajax announced a new deal for centre-back Sven Botman, who has played every single minute for the Eredivisie’s 11th-placed team this season.
Botman, who has scored two goals and added four assists as well, was delighted to extend his contract from 2022 until 2023.
“I wanted to see if Ajax had a plan with me and it turned out to be there. I will return this summer, after which I will have a fair chance to prove myself in pre-season and during the season as a full member of the first-team selection.”
Botman, a Netherlands U-20 international, is set to return to Ajax this summer. He has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Dutch giants.
