Ajax are leading the race to sign AS Roma’s Benjamin Tahirovic, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The 20-year-old central midfielder has attracted interest from several top clubs, but Ajax are said to be the closest to signing the Bosnian international on a permanent deal.
Tahirovic featured 11 times in Serie A last season as Roma finished in 8th place. The youngsters current contract with the Italian. Side runs until 2026, but Ajax are incredibly keen on signing the youngster. Nothing has been announced yet about the transfer fee that Ajax are offering Roma, but a decision on Tahirovic’s future is set to be made very soon.
Tahirovic was born in Sweden but has represented Bosnia-Herzegovina three times. The talent went through the youth academies of various Swedish sides before joining Roma in 2021. The Bosnian can play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or as a defensive midfielder. Ajax want to get the deal done as quickly as possible as Benjamin Tahirovic is highly rated by several top sides.
