Ajax fans are not taking their latest disappointing performance well at all.
Maurice Steijn’s side started the season in poor form but saved their worst showing for the biggest game yet.
Shortly before half-time at home to Feyenoord in the Klassieker, the visitors made it 3-0 and the home support let their anger get the better of them, throwing several flares onto the field.
That caused the game to be suspended with the referee taking the players into the dressing room, with a warning that a repeat would see the game be called off.
And when the home fans failed to take heed of that and throw more flares onto the field 11 minutes after half-time, the referee officially brought the contest to an end.
It is the latest such incident to occur in the Eredivisie, with the fixture likely to be completely behind closed doors at a later date.
