Lyfe Oldenstam (18) and Miguel João da Silva (17) are transferring from Ajax’s youth academy to Como, the Amsterdam club announced on Thursday. Neither player had any prospects of making their first-team debut.

Oldenstam made his debut in Dutch professional football last season, coming on as a substitute in stoppage time during Jong Ajax’s clash with FC Dordrecht. In contrast, João da Silva didn’t progress beyond the U17s at Ajax.

“These two promising talents are joining the club as part of the long-term development partnership between the two clubs,” Como writes on its website. “We are proud to have forged a partnership with such a historic and prestigious club as Ajax. This collaboration is an important step in our project.”

The partnership between Ajax and Como already took shape in preparation for the new season, when the Amsterdam side received an invitation to participate in the Como Cup, in which Como beat Ajax 3-0 in the final.
