Sevilla FC kicked off their LaLiga season with a 3-2 loss to Athletic Bilbao. In this match, Yaoundé-born midfielder Louis Agoumé netted Sevilla’s second goal.

After the game, Agoumé addressed the controversial penalty that opened the scoring:

On the pitch, I didn’t see it clearly and I haven’t watched the footage, but it seems to me there was barely any contact. We need to focus on ourselves, because our first home match is coming up and we want to win in front of our fans.

He also emphasized the team’s response in the second half:

We showed a different side, we attacked and put the opposition under pressure. That’s what we need to keep doing, while improving certain phases, like the goal we conceded at the end of the match.
